Azerbaijan president meets with Chinese vice minister on boosting economic ties

Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev on Monday met with visiting Chinese Vice Minister of Commerce Zhong Shan to enhance the bilateral economic ties.

During his visit, the minister and Azerbaijan's Vice Premier Abid Sharifov jointly presided over the forth session of the China-Azerbaijan Intergovernmental Commission on Trade-Economic Cooperation.

Both sides agreed that as economic and trade cooperations between the two countries developed smoothly with huge potential and broad prospect, the two countries should further expand trade scale, optimize commodity structure, and enrich and broaden their cooperation.

They also agreed that efforts should be made to enhance regional exchanges between the two countries and continue to boost bilateral economic ties in energy, metallurgy, communication and agriculture.
