We look forward to the historical moment when South Sudan will become the 193rd member and to strengthen our comprehensive cooperation with the country within the framework of the UN."

"China also sincerely wishes the young South Sudan to continue to achieve new accomplishment in its efforts of state-building and development so as to become a positive force in maintaining peace and stability as well as promoting common development," he said. " China will continue to provide assistance within its ability for the development of South Sudan."

In addition, China called on the international community to continue to support South Sudan in realizing political stability and provide effective assistance for its economic recovery and development.
