Li Changchun, a senior leader of Communist Party of China (CPC), met with a visiting Zimbabwean delegation on Wednesday, calling on the CPC and Zimbabwe African National Union-Patriotic Front (ZANU-PF) to further their cooperation.

Li, a Standing Committee member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, told Simon Khaya Moyo, ZANU-PF national chairman who led the delegation, that China is willing to make concerted efforts with the Zimbabwean side to strengthen their political mutual trust and expand the bilateral pragmatic cooperation in various fields.

Highlighting the long-lasting and all-weather friendship forged between the two peoples as well as the two parties, Li expressed his hope that the two parties could generate further contributions to help bring bilateral relations to a new height.

The CPC and Zanu-PF had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to promote political exchanges and cooperation between the two parties in May 2010.

The two parties should further implement the MOU in an aim to improvement their competencies and cooperation, Li added.

Echoing Li's views, Moyo expressed his congratulations on the 90th anniversary of the establishment of the CPC, saying that the Zimbabwean people feel proud to witness the achievements China has made during its economic and social development.

The ZANU-PF wishes to foster its exchanges and cooperation with the CPC and learn from the successful experience that CPC has acquired on party capacity building and the management of national development.
