The leadership of the Communist Party of China (CPC) plays a decisive role in the great achievements China has made during the past decades, Belarusian Vice Prime Minister Anatoly Tozik said Tuesday.

In an exclusive interview with Xinhua, Tozik recalled his experience as the Belarusian ambassador to China from April 2006 to January 2011, during which he witnessed a series of significant events in recent Chinese history.

From the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing to the 2010 World Expo in Shanghai, and from China's rapid economic growth to its successful dealing with the latest global financial crisis, all of those feats won international recognition, Tozik said.

"Therefore, I can say that all of the outstanding results were achieved under the leadership of the CPC, which now consists of more than 80 million of the best representatives of the Chinese people," he said.

As China's ruling party, the CPC has a deep understanding of the country's history and realities and a comprehensive mastery of international development experiences, the vice prime minister said.

The CPC is also responsive to public sentiment, making constant efforts to satisfy the people's needs and improve the people's livelihood, he added.

Under the leadership of the CPC, Tozik said, China will see its economy continue to grow rapidly in the future and become more and more balanced and innovation-driven.

He also highly appreciated the CPC's role in boosting the Belarus-China relationship, saying he is confident that with the CPC at China's helm, relations between the two countries will continue developing steadily and healthily.
