Chinese defense minister meets Japanese delegation

Chinese Defense Minister Liang Guanglie met with a group of retired Japanese military officials in Beijing on Friday.

The delegation of the Forum on China's Politics and Economy of Japan is making its 34th annual visit to China since the forum's establishment. The delegation was invited to the country by the China Association for International Friendly Contacts.

During their talks, the two sides pledged to expand exchanges to boost mutual understanding and trust between the two countries.

The delegation is headed by Inoue Koji, former commander of the Northeastern Army Region of Japan's Ground Self-defence Force.
