China and Cape Verde celebrated the 35th anniversary of their diplomatic relations at a reception in Beijing on Monday.
China and Cape Verde have maintained a steadily growing relationship over the past 35 years with close cooperation on international affairs, said Feng Zuoku, vice president of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries.
The two countries have brought real benefits to their people through cooperation within the framework of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation and the Forum for Economic and Trade Cooperation between China and Portuguese-speaking countries, said Feng.
Feng also said that China was grateful for the support given by the government of Cape Verde on issues concerning China's core interests, such as those related to Taiwan, Tibet, and human rights.
Julio Cesar Freire De Morais, Cape Verde' s Ambassador to China, praised the bilateral relations, saying that the countries' cooperation in politics, economy and culture is in full swing.
