Uzbekistan President Islam Karimov arrived in Beijing on Tuesday, starting his two-day state visit to China.

During his visit, Karimov will hold talks with Chinese President Hu Jintao, and meet separately with China's top legislator Wu Bangguo and Premier Wen Jiabao. The two sides will sign a series of bilateral cooperative agreements.

Uzbekistan First Deputy Prime Minister Rustam Azimov earlier said that China is an intimate friend and partner of Uzbekistan and the president's visit is a great event for the bilateral relationship.
