Malaysian Foreign Minister Anifah Aman will pay a five-day visit to China next week.
"Anifah Aman will pay an official visit to China from April 17 to 21 at invitation of his Chinese counterpart Yang Jiechi," Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Hong Lei said a regular press conference on Thursday.
Hong said the China-Malaysia relationship had developed smoothly since the two countries established diplomatic ties in 1974, particularly since they forged strategic cooperation in 2004.
Malaysia has been China's biggest trade partner among the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) countries for three consecutive years while China has been Malaysia's top trade parter for two years, Hong said.
"China would like to work with Malaysia to bring strategic cooperation to a new high," Hong said.
