Senior Chinese and Zambian military officials met in Beijing on Saturday, pledging to strengthen military cooperation between the two countries.

Referring to the Zambian army as an excellent partner of the Chinese military, Chinese Defense Minister Liang Guanglie said he hoped the two armed forces will maintain high-level visits and deepen cooperation for the greater development of their relationship.

China appreciates the Zambian government's "one China" policy and their support on issues concerning China's core interests, including Taiwan, Tibet and human rights issues, Liang told visiting Zambian Army Commander Wisdom Lopa.
