Vice chairman of China's Central Military Commission Xu Caihou met with a group of retired British generals in Beijing Tuesday.

Xu welcomed the visiting generals and said that interaction between retired generals from China and Britain will help to advance the two countries' strategic partnership.

The British delegation, headed by Lieutenant-General Sir Graeme Lamb, is paying a five-day visit to China to meet and speak with Chinese military officials.

Other members of the delegation include Major-General Duke of Westminster Gerald Cavendish Grosvenor, Admiral Lord Michael Boyce, General Sir Timothy Granville-Chapman and Sir David Veness.

The British generals are scheduled to visit military facilities and hold seminars with their Chinese counterparts during their stay in Beijing.
