China, Burundi vow to advance friendly cooperation

A senior Communist Party of China (CPC) official met here Tuesday with a delegation of Burundi's ruling party Conseil National pour la Defense de la Democratie- Forces de Defense de la Democratie (CNDD-FDD).

He Yong, deputy secretary of the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI), said China-Burundi ties had developed smoothly for a long time.

China appreciated Burundi's adherence to the one-China policy as well as its strong support to China on Taiwan-related issues, He said.

He hoped the two sides would make joint efforts to promote the development of bilateral friendly cooperation.

Mohamed Rukara, head of the CNDD-FDD delegation and Burundian Ombudsman, spoked highly of the friendly cooperation between the CNDD-FDD and the CPC.

He said the Burundian government and the ruling CNDD-FDD party would continue to stick to the one-China policy and support the peaceful reunification of China.

At the invitation of the CPC, the CNDD-FDD delegation arrived in Beijing on Saturday.
