Chinese FM meets Kazakh parliamentary leaders, highlighting cooperation

Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi met in Astana Tuesday with top leaders of the Kazakh Parliament, stressing the bilateral relation was embracing an important opportunity as both sides were presently stepping up its economic and social development and reform.

Yang held talks with Kasymzhomart Tokaev and Oral Muhamedjanov, the chairman of the upper and lower house respectively, and both talks highlighted the progress made in strategic partnership and economic cooperation of the two countries, which were achieved under the basis of mutual benefit and win-win situation.

Both sides agreed that China and Kazakhstan were important neighboring countries and partners, and Kazakh Parliament would continue to deepen the mutual trust in political field while at the same time increase practical cooperation, enhance cultural exchanges and coordination in world affairs.

The two sides agreed to promote increased understanding and friendship between the people of the two countries, and enhance cooperation in trade, infrastructure and energy.

The Chinese Foreign Minister started his three-day visit to Kazakhstan on Monday.
