The following are some quotable quotes made by Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao in India Friday morning and in Pakistan, where he arrived later that day for a three-day visit.

-- "China and India, two open and lenient peoples with self motivation, have cultivated their brilliant civilizations, and forged friendship and jointly promoted the advancement of the humankind through exchanges," Wen said during talks with representatives from the two countries' cultural circles.

"The dance of dragon and elephant together starts from culture and youth," said Wen, referring to the young as the hope for generations of friendship between the two peoples.

"Cultural and youth exchanges would lay a solid foundation for expanding bilateral cooperation in various areas."

-- "During my current visit to India, I have a deep impression that various parties of the country hold positive attitudes toward developing ties with China," Wen said during his meeting with Indian opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Sushma Swaraj.

-- "The purpose of my visit this time is to solidify friendship, deepen cooperation, support Pakistan's efforts of post-disaster reconstruction, and ring in, together with Pakistan, the 60th anniversary of China-Pakistan diplomatic relations in 2011," Wen said in a written statement released at the airport upon his arrival in Pakistan for a three-day official visit.

"China and Pakistan are all-weather cooperation partners. Under the complex and fluid international and regional circumstances, it is a firm policy of the Chinese government to further cement and deepen the strategic partnership of cooperation with Pakistan, " the Chinese premier said.

-- "China and Pakistan were, are and will always be good neighbors, good friends, good partners and good brothers," Wen said during his talks with Pakistani Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani.

In order to enhance communication and cooperation between the two "all-weather" strategic cooperative partners, Beijing is ready to establish an annual conference mechanism between the two countries' leaders and a regular dialogue framework between their foreign ministers, Wen told Gilani.
