China expresses condolences over death of Barbados PM

Senior Chinese political advisor Bai Lichen Tuesday offered his condolences over the death of Barbados Prime Minister David Thompson.
Bai, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, visited the Barbados embassy to China and expressed his condolences over Thompson's death on behalf of the Chinese government.
Thompson, 48, died on Oct. 23 of pancreatic cancer at his private residence in St. Philip. Taking office in January 2008, he was the youngest ever elected prime minister for the Caribbean island state.
