Heads of the China National Radio ( CNR) and the Bulgarian National Radio (BNR) expressed in Sofia on Wednesday their wish to further expand cooperation.

"We are willing to cooperate more actively sharing music, cultural and other programs in order to develop the bilateral cooperation between Bulgaria and China," BNR's Director General Valeri Todorov said during a meeting with his Chinese counterpart Wang Qiu.

"There are already several years of successful cooperation between the BNR and the CNR after they signed in 2006 a cooperation agreement," Wang noted.

He said the BNR Children Choir performed very successfully in China in 2007, and a visit to Bulgaria of the CNR Children Choir is in process of organizing.

Wang also invited Todorov to visit Beijing to discuss further development of the ties between the CNR and the BNR.

Zhang Zhonghua, cultural counselor at the Chinese embassy in Sofia who also attended the meeting, highly assessed the special monthly program "Closer to China" launched by the BNR in April 2010.
