Li Yuanchao, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, met Friday with Ho Duc Viet, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV).
Li, head of the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee, spoke highly of Sino-Vietnam relations during the meeting with Ho in Nanning City, capital of south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
Li called on both countries to respect, understand and trust each other and enhance cooperation to push forward the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.
Ho, head of the Party Central Committee's Organization Commission, also called for joint efforts to develop the bilateral relations.
Ho was in Nanning to attend a get-together of Chinese and Vietnamese youths, one of the series of activities held by the two countries to mark the 60th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral diplomatic relations this year.
