Singaporean president begins 8-day China visit

Singaporean President S.R. Nathan arrived in Beijing Monday, kicking off his eight-day visit to China.
During his visit, Nathan will meet with Chinese President Hu Jintao and top Chinese political advisor Jia Qinglin.
While in Beijing, he will attend a photo exhibition marking the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two Asian nations.
He will also attend a national day reception hosted by the Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCCI).
Besides Beijing, Nathan will visit China's economic hub, Shanghai, where the 2010 World Expo is being held.
