Chinese presidential envoy to attend Philippine presidential inauguration

Senior Chinese legislator Yan Junqi will attend, as envoy of President Hu Jintao, the inauguration of incoming Philippine president Benigno Aquino, scheduled for June 30.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Qin Gang made the announcement at a regular press briefing Thursday.

Yan is vice-chairperson of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, China's top legislature.
