The fifth conference on cooperation in the economic corridor between China's Yunnan province and four Vietnamese municipalities and provinces will open in Hanoi on Thursday, said a report on the website of the municipal government on Wednesday.
The four Vietnamese municipalities and provinces include Hanoi, Haiphong, Lao Cai and Quang Ninh, said the report.
The discussions will focus on cooperation in trade and investment, tourism, transportation, education, culture, sports and health care, local newspaper the Vietnam News quoted Nguyen Van Tu, deputy director of the Hanoi Planning and Investment Department as saying on Wednesday.
The conference will have workshops to introduce study programs, commerce and tourism in Yunnan, a new feature of this year's conference, said Nguyen Huy Tuong, vice chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee.
The annual conference is part of the implementation of the "Two Corridors and One Economic Belt" agreement signed by Vietnam and China, said the newspaper.
