Wu, chairman of the Standing Committee of China's National People's Congress, is expected to confer with the U.S. Speaker of the House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi and meet with U.S. President Barack Obama, Vice President Joe Biden and the Secretary of State Hillary Clinton during his stay in Washington on China-U.S. relations as well as international and regional issues of common concern.
As Pelosi's guest, Wu arrived in Phoenix, Arizona on Sunday. It is the first official visit to the United States by a Chinese top legislator in the past two decades. The United States is the final leg of Wu's three-nation America tour which also took him to Cuba and the Bahamas.
