Nepali Foreign Minister Sujata Koirala Tuesday said her China visit aims at seeking support from the northern neighbor for peace and stability.

Talking to media persons at the Tribhuvan International Airport in the capital Kathmandu before flying to China, Koirala said efforts will also be made for decreasing trade imbalance between the two countries.

She said a proposal for the establishment of a dry port in Tatopani at the Nepal-China border will be tabled to Chinese officials that will facilitate bilateral trade.

Additionally, she said that she has a list of 497 Nepali goods for which duty free entry into the Chinese market will be sought.

Koirala said assistance would be sought for the establishment of a Special Economic Zone in Kavre district in central Nepal and upgrading western tourism city Pokhara's domestic airport into an international airport.

Reiterating government's stand on the one-China policy, Koirala said Nepal would not allow any kind of anti-China activities on its soil, adding her visit will help strengthen the Nepal-China ties.

Koirala's China visit is part of the preparation for an official China visit of Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal.
