Moldova will continue to adhere to the one-China principle and deepen its friendly cooperative ties with China, Moldovan President Vladimir Voronin said during a meeting with a senior official of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Monday.

China and Moldova enjoy frequent exchanges of high-level visits and active bilateral ties, said Voronin at the meeting with Li Yuanchao, a member of the CPC Central Committee Political Bureau, a member of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee and head of the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee.

The Moldovan leader added that the communication and cooperation between the Moldovan Party of Communists (MCP) and the CPC have greatly contributed to the smooth development of bilateral ties.

For his part, Li said Sino-Moldovan ties have maintained a sound development momentum, marked by frequent high-level contacts, deepening mutual political trust, steadily expanding cooperation in all fields and mutual support on important issues.

The CPC has conducted in-depth communication with the MCP, and is willing to strengthen and bring new contents to the existing ties with the MCP and thus contribute to the all-round development of inter-state ties, he said.

Li also met with Moldovan Parliament Speaker Marian Lupu and Prime Minister Zinaida Creceanii on Monday and attended the signing ceremony of an economic and technological cooperation agreement between the two countries.

He also held talks with Victor Mindru, a MCP Executive Committee member and the Executive Secretary of the MCP, and reached wide consensus with him on strengthening inter-party cooperation between the CPC and the MCP.

Li is leading a CPC delegation on a goodwill visit to Moldova at the invitation of the MCP.
