The location of the China-Russia students exchange camp in Sanya has been decided. The camp will cover an area of 127.96 mu (about 85311 square meters). When completed, it will be the first foreign students exchange camp in China and an international youth exchange platform.

Initial planned site of the China-Russia students exchange camp is located in Sanya Bay of Sanya City, near Sanya Phoenix International Airport. The construction of the camp will integrate characteristics and architectural styles of Russian Children's centers and adopt their ideas and management experience. On the basis of the actual situation of the local community in Hainan, the camp will highlight the characteristics of a tropical coastal city and meet the physical and psychological needs and aesthetics of young people. The goal is to build a comprehensive international youth exchange camp.

In August this year, convalescence and rehabilitation centers for children in Russia received Chinese children from the earthquake-stricken area in Sichuan, providing them psychological rehabilitation and laying basis for exchange between Chinese and Russian children. For this reason, the construction of China-Russia students exchange camp in Hainan was put on the agenda by the Chinese Ministry of Education in the hope to provide a permanent base for China to carry out large-scale Chinese and foreign youth activities.
