Wang Gang, a senior official of the Communist Party of China (CPC), on Wednesday met in Beijing with a British young politician delegation headed by former Deputy Prime Minister John Prescott.
Wang, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, said China and Britain had maintained all-round development in bilateral ties, with their strategic trust strengthened and cooperation expanding.
Wang particularly mentioned Sino-British relations had turned out good momentum since British Prime Minister Gordon Brown visited China early this year.
Wang, also vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, said London's hosting of the 30th Olympic Games offered the new opportunity for both China and Britain to further cooperate
