Burundi hopes to learn agricultural experience from southwest China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, said visiting Burundian president Pierre Nkurunziza here on Sunday.

Nkurunziza arrived here on Sunday after watching the opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympic Games, starting a three-day visit to Guangxi.

"As soon as I arrived here, I felt like I was back to Burundi, for the geographical character and climate here have many similarities with Burundi," said Nkurunziza at a meeting with Ma Biao, chairman of the regional government.

Nkurunziza said he was astonished at China's advanced agricultural techniques.

Ma Biao said Guangxi and Burundi had bright future of cooperation, especially in the field of agricultural cooperation. He hoped the two sides would further enhance cooperation in the aspects of rice, cassava, fruit and vegetables.

Nkurunziza hoped Burundi could learn the agricultural experience from Guangxi, and he also hoped the two sides would seek common development on the basis of the complementary conditions of each other.
