Defense Minister Liang Guanglie met here Tuesday with visiting Chief of Staff of the Navy Sebastian Zaragoza Soto, exchanging views on bilateral relations and military cooperation.

Liang said the two countries have witnessed close personnel exchanges, enhanced political trust, fruitful economic and trade cooperation and consultations and coordination in global affairs over the years. He said China appreciated Spain's adherence to the one-China policy.

Liang said military relations are an important part of bilateral relations, and have developed well in recent years.

China holds an active attitude towards the development of military relations with Spain, and is willing to push forward cooperation and exchange with the Spanish armed forces, Liang said.

Zaragoza said that he hopes the two armed forces will further expand their exchanges and cooperation in the future. He also wished the Beijing Olympic Games every success.
