Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf left Urumqi, capital city of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region in northwest China, on Tuesday evening, concluding his six-day state visit in China.
During his visit to Xinjiang, Musharraf met with Wang Lequan, Communist Party of China (CPC) Xinjiang chief, in Urumqi.
Wang said China and Pakistan were both traditional friends and cooperative partners.
"Pakistan is a close neighbor of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, expressing his hope that the two sides would work closer in fields such as transportation and communication.
Musharraf, in his first visit to Xinjiang, said that Pakistan and China share profound friendship which would help push forward bilateral cooperation in various fields.
During his two-day visit to Xinjiang, Musharraf attended a Sino-Pakistan business cooperation forum, visited Xinjiang Museum and climbed to the peak of Red Mountain, the symbolic resort of Urumqi.
Invited by Chinese President Hu Jintao, Musharraf arrived in Hainan Province on April 10 , where he attended the annual meeting of the Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) and met Hu.
During his Beijing visit, he also met Chinese top legislator Wu Bangguo, Premier Wen Jiabao and top political advisor Jia Qinglin, respectively. Source: Xinhua
