On 3 April 2008,the launching ceremony of 2008 edition of the book "Peace and Friendship" was held at Danish Embassy in Beijing. HRH the Prince Consort, ambassador to China, Former Vice-Premier of State Council Li Lanqing, H.E. Jeppe Tranholm-Mikkelsen, and author, former ambassador to China, Mr. Christopher Bo Bramsen participated the ceremony.

In 2000, as a tribute to the 50th anniversary of Sino-Danish relations, Denmark's the Ambassador to China, Christopher Bo Bramsen,wrote a book about the official relations between the two countries, from the very first ship sent from Denmark to China in 1674 up until 2000. The book tells the story of how the Danish Government, based on the wish to trade with China, established consular missions in many of China's port cities and later a diplomatic mission in Beijing. The main content in the book is based on Chinese and Danish archives. With detailed facts and many rare historical pictures, it is very informative to study China and Denmark's diplomatic history. The new 2008 edition added the latest bilateral government relations as well as bilateral trade development since 2000.
The 2008 Olympics will be held in Beijing this year. The year 2008 also marks the 100th anniversary for Denmark to send the first diplomat to China in 1908. The new book emphasizes peace and friendship between Denmark and China in the past century.
