A senior official of the Communist Party of China (CPC) vowed here Thursday to step up relations with the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) and promote the ties between the two nations.

It was the common aspiration of Chinese and Vietnamese peoples to fortify traditional friendship and boost bilateral cooperation, said Wang Gang, vice chairman of National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, in a meeting with a visiting CPV delegation.

Wang, also a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, hailed the growth of relations between two parties and the two nations in the recent years, saying the cooperation serves the fundamental interests of the two peoples.

China is ready to make joint efforts with the Vietnamese side to push forward bilateral comprehensive and cooperative ties and make the two maintain good neighbors, good friends, good comrades and good partners, Wang told the Vietnamese guests.
