A number of foreign leaders have sent messages of congratulation to the Chinese leaders newly elected at the ongoing First Session of the 11th National People's Congress (NPC) and the First Session of the 11th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) concluded Friday.

The following foreign leaders have sent messages of congratulation to President Hu Jintao, who was re-elected president of the country on Saturday:

Nicholas Liverpool, president of the Commonwealth of Dominica.

Joao Bernardo Vieira, president of Guinea Bissau.

Pervez Musharraf, president of Pakistan.

S.R. Nathan, president of Singapore.

The following foreign leaders have sent messages of congratulation to Wu Bangguo, who was re-elected as chairman of the Standing Committee of the 11th National People's Congress on Saturday:

Yasuo Fukuda, prime minister of Japan.

Francisco Benante, speaker of the National Assembly of Guinea Bissau.

The following foreign leaders have sent messages of congratulation to Wen Jiabao, who was re-appointed Chinese premier on Sunday:
