The first China International Ancient Town Exposition will be held in Beijing from Dec. 16 to Dec. 18. Hundreds of ancient Chinese towns will be on display during the exhibition. The expo is one of the important parts of the "2011 Cultural Tourism" theme year.

China International Ancient Town Exposition is the only national display that focuses on ancient towns. It is aimed at building a service platform for the developing of the ancient Chinese towns.

According to the statistics, there are 5,000 ancient towns that are older than 1,000 years in China. As of now, only 180 of them have been explored and developed. The theme of the expo will be "lead the history into the future" and it will show the structures, histories and folk-customs to all visitors.
