6 killed, 16 injured in NW China road accident

Six people were killed and 16 injured in a road accident in northwest China's Gansu Province on Monday, local authorities said.

The accident occurred at around 5 p.m. on a highway in Ningyuan Township, Anding District in the city of Dingxi, where a training truck from a driving school in Dingxi, driven by a trainee, lost control and rolled off a bridge, said a spokesman with the provincial traffic police department. The injured were rushed to hospital to receive treatment. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
