Unemployed man arrested for robbing bank, murder in NW China

Police in the northwestern province of Gansu have arrested an unemployed man who allegedly stabbed two bank clerks to death and robbed the bank of 53,000 yuan (about 8,193 U.S. dollars), local police said Wednesday.

Fu Rong, 38, was believed to have committed the murders and robbed the bank in Qinzhou District of Tianshui City around noon on June 19, according to police.

Police arrested him in an eyeglasses store at 5:40 p.m. Tuesday, 54 hours after the violent robbery.

The case is being further investigated.
