The construction project of Nanning East Station, an international transport hub, was officially launched in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region on May 27. The station will be the crossroad of many high-speed rail lines in China and will help strengthen ties with ASEAN Free Trade Areas.
Nanning East Station encompasses various means of transportation, such as railways, urban subways, motor coaches and city buses. The station has a gross area of 250,000 square meters and total investments of nearly 6.1 billion yuan. When it is completed, it will become an international transport hub linking major cities of Southwest China and ASEAN countries, materializing barrier-free transfer between different means of transportation.
After completion, the Nanning East Station will be the largest railway station in southern China as well as a symbolic landmark of Nanning city. The station will satisfy the demand for the rapid flow of people, goods, funds and information between different cities and will benefit regional development.
