The lingering drought in central and east China's provinces has brought much impact on ecological environment, said an environmental official Friday at a press conference.
Vice Minister of Environmental Protection Li Ganjie told the press that the drought caused deterioration of water quality in some major lakes.
The wet lands and migrant birds in these lake regions also suffered from the drought, the worst in the last few decades, said Li.
