On Tuesday, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security held a news conference about the Social Insurance Law, and officials from nearly 40 foreign embassies and consulates in China, the International Labor Organization and the United Nations Development Program were invited to attend the conference.

The Social Insurance Law will take effect on July 1, which allows foreign employees working in China to benefit from the same social insurance as Chinese nationals. The law will ensure that workers from countries that have signed bilateral social insurance agreements with China will be able to avoid paying premiums. However, they cannot enjoy Chinese social insurance benefits.
