A business building under partial renovation at the heart of Shanghai's commercial area briefly caught fire on Sunday. No casualties were reported.
The fire broke out on the top of the 12-storey No. 1578 building, located near the Shanghai City Air Terminal in the bustling Nanjing West Road, at about 1:20 p.m. Sunday, belching out thick brownish smoke. The fire was put out by 1: 30 p.m., fire-fighting officials said.
The area was cordoned off as the authorities are probing the cause.
