Forest fire raging in northwest China's Xinjiang

No casualties have been reported as a forest fire continues to rage in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region on Wednesday, local authorities said.

More than 800 fire fighters were still battling the fire, which have consumed 40 hectares of woods after it broke out in a forest near Wensu County in the Aksu Prefecture at around 2 p.m. Wednesday, the local government said in a statement.

No casualties or loss of farm animals have been reported so far, it said.
