Family owned fireworks plant explodes in central China village

A family owned fireworks plant exploded Wednesday noon in a central China county, local authorities told Xinhua.

The explosion occurred at 12:30 p.m. in Dangdian Village in Dangdian Town in Shangcai County, in central China's Henan Province, said an official of the provincial administration of work safety.

The number of casualties is still unknown, and an investigation into the cause of the accident is underway, the official said.
