China will establish an organ donation system around September, which means that the organ donors are expected to receive material compensation, said Huang Jiefu, member of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and deputy director of the Ministry of Health, on March 6.

Huang introduced that the cardiac death organ donation laws have been legislated in China. The related institutions are currently being verified by the State Commission Office for Public Sector Reform under the State Council. The whole organ donation system is expected to be formed soon.

At that time, central government will entrust the Red Cross Society of China (RCSC) as the third party agency to organize the organ donations in China, as well as take the legal responsibilities for regulating the personnel, institutions and funds.

Huang said that the Red Cross is eligible to charge the commission fee and the technique support fee from the organ transplant recipients.
