Five crew members of a Taiwanese fishing vessel were injured after its boiler exploded Monday morning, the Philippine Coast Guard reported in its website.

Vessel CT7-0039 (named HO-CHUNG) was about to arrive at Manila' s South Harbor when its ice boiler exploded onboard. The vessel's five crew members - four Indonesians and one Taiwanese - suffered chest pains after exposure to ammonia. The Coast Guard Action Center said it contacted vessel Captain Hon Je-Chao through satellite phone and VHF radio.

The Coast Guard said it's sending a medical team to intercept the fishing vessel and bring the wounded crew members to a nearby hospital.
