3.68 mln passengers pass through HK during Chinese New Year

The Immigration Department of Hong Kong Monday announced that over 3.68 million people pass through Hong Kong during Chinese New Year holiday period as of Feb. 6.

From Feb. 2 to Feb. 6, a total of 1,744,388 and 1,938,671 passengers went in and out of Hong Kong respectively through the city's land, sea and air control points.

The Lo Wu control point was the busiest port with a total of 586,830 inbound and 690,942 outbound passengers during the period. Number of passengers going in and out of Hong Kong through the local airport totaled 257,327 and 263,498 respectively.

This year's Chinese New Years Day fell on Feb. 3, when the city 's residents started to enjoy four consecutive days of public holiday.
