Traffic accident kills nine, injures 29 in southwest China

A bus collision had left nine people dead and 29 injured in southwest China' s Yunnan Province, local authorities said Tuesday.

A bus and a minibus collided at midday Monday on an ice-covered road in Ninglang Yi Autonomous County of Yunnan, with the bus rolling down a hill, an official with the county's government said.

Seven people died at the scene and another two died on the way to hospital, the official said.

The 29 injured have been hospitalized and are reported to be in stable conditions.
