Two people died and 17 were injured in a traffic accident in southwest China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region early Monday, police said.
The accident occurred in Du'an County, Hechi City, at around 5 a.m. when a coach travelling from Dongguan, Guangdong Province, to Zunyi, Guizhou Province, slammed into the rear end of a trailer registered in Jiangxi Province.
Two of the injured are in serious conditions, according to police in Hechi City.
It is not immediately known if the accident was caused by slippery road as the police investigation is still underway. Over the past weeks freezing rain and snow hit parts of Guangxi, Guizhou, Yunnan, Hunan, Sichuan and Chongqing. Ice-coated roads have been a safety hazard for drivers.
