Performance held to mark 90th birthday of late Peking Opera master

A Peking Opera performance was staged Monday evening to mark the 90th birthday of a late master of the art, Zhang Junqiu.
Jia Qinglin, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), watched the performance at the CPPCC National Committee's auditorium in Beijing.
Monday's performance was part of a series of activities to commemorate Zhang. The other events will be held in Beijing and Tianjin over the next few days.
Zhang was born in Beijing on November 14, 1920, and died in 1997.
