More than 2,000 swimming lovers from home and abroad will try to swim across the Yangtze River, China's longest river.
The swimming competition, part of Wuhan International River-crossing Festival, will be held on Friday as planned despite the rising water level of Yangtze in recent days due to continuous rainstorms, organizers said.
To ensure the safety of participants, escorting boats and medical workers are on standby.
