Three children drown in northeast China

Three primary school students drowned in a pond Wednesday in northeast China's Heilongjiang Province.

The pupils aged between seven and nine were found absent from their classes at Hongkeli Township Primary School of Harbin City, the provincial capital. Their parents who received the report found them at a pond on the way to school. The children were pronounced dead in the hospital, police said.

Police were investigating the incident.
