The National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), the country's top advisory body, will start its annual session Wednesday afternoon. CPPCC members will get a notepad computer each, according to Guangzhou Daily on Wednesday.

Zhang Xiaomei, a member of the CPPCC, said on twitter, "Different from last year, all the computers received when the CPPCC members register will not need to be returned this year. It is more realistic."

Zhang also said on her twitter it was not meaningful to return the computers after use. Some members have their own computers and would not get familiar with a new computer within a few days. And some members would not use the computers even though they received one.

Zhang believes recycling thousands of computers after the session is a waste and distributing computers also promotes the awareness of electronic office.

At the registration counter of the CPPCC a note on the desk says all participants can have a notepad computer. Zhangjia, a member of the CPPCC, told reports that he had received a Lenovo notepad last night.

Some netizens estimated that the more than 2,000 notepads will cost 10 million yuan. But anther said the notepads can facilitate CPPCC members.
