China's National Meteorological Center (NMC) said Tuesday that the rainy and snowy weather in southern regions during the Spring Festival holidays would last until Thursday.

A cold front will cause a temperature drop of 4-6 degrees Celsius in central and eastern parts of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, north China and northeastern China, according to the NMC.

Small to moderate snow or sleet is forecast in the northern and southwestern parts of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, western and eastern parts of Tibet Autonomous Region, eastern part of Qinghai Province and the northeastern part of China.

Areas in central Guizhou Province would expect freezing rain.
