The All-China Women's Federation (ACWF) has donated 500,000 yuan (about 73,000 U.S. dollars) worth of aid to Sri Lanka on Monday, to boost training for women.

ACWF Chairwoman Chen Zhili presented a letter detailing the donation to Shiranthi Rajapakse, wife of Sri Lanka's President Mahinda Rajapakse, at a meeting in Beijing.

According to the ACWF, the aid comprises computers and other materials which could be used to educate women.

During the meeting, Chen, also vice chairwoman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, exchanged views with Rajapakse on issues such as women and children development and promoting communication.

Rajapakse is the guest of the ACWF during her six-day visit to China.
